Gingerbread Waffles

Warm, spiced waffles with cozy gingerbread flavour -  perfect for slow mornings or a festive weekend breakfast.

Ingredients

Waffles

  • ¾ cup Farm Girl Vanilla Pancake & Waffle Mix
  • 1 egg or 2 mashed bananas
  • ½ cup milk of choice (add gradually for desired batter consistency)
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
  • ½ tsp salt (or to taste)
  • Maple syrup, for serving

Whipped Gingerbread Butter

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened (or butter alternative of choice)
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • ¾ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup (adjust to taste)

Instructions

1. Make the waffle batter

In a bowl, mix wet ingredients first. Whisk in waffle mix, spices, and salt until just combined. 

2. Cook the waffles

Preheat waffle maker and cook according to manufacturer instructions until golden and crisp.

3. Prepare the gingerbread butter

In a small bowl, whip softened butter with spices and maple syrup until light and fluffy.

4. Serve

Spread whipped gingerbread butter over warm waffles and finish with maple syrup.
